Using the body and performance as the primary medium to ‘exhibit’ or install art in the public space, this programme In Situ wishes to call attention to the notion of an art form that manages to permeate and make its presence felt between spaces.
Set against the contrasting backdrop of Singapore’s urban environment, Danish artists Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, Molly Haslund, and Sophie Dupont will rethink synergies for their existing performances in collaboration with local artists like the Critical Craft Collective, Elizabeth de Roza, and Urich Lau, as well as the Singapore audiences. These works will unfold within the confines of exhibition spaces and public areas, offering direct encounters with the audience.
In Situ, Performance as Exhibition is co-organised by Belarmino&Partners and McNally School of Fine Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts on the occasion of the Launch Symposium for LASALLE's BA (Hons) Art Histories and Curatorial Practices: Asia and the World. This project is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.

I Am Not What You See Asia book launch for Danish-Filipina performance artist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen's recently published abridged retrospective by the same title, with a live performance of the Singapore iteration of A Void by the artist that decolonises the history of performance art through 11 re-enactments, followed by a roundtable discussion among the artist, Patrick Flores, and Vanini Belarmino, moderated by Cissie Fu, concluding with remarks from Sandra Jensen Landi, Danish Ambassador to Singapore, and Steve Dixon, President of LASALLE.
--> registration by e-mail to angie.wong@lasalle.edu.sg

5 April sunrise to sunset @ various locations across McNally campus
Marking Breath: Danish performance artist Sophie Dupont presents a solo durational performance by moving slowly and quietly across LASALLE's main campus over a span of 12 hours to compose an abstract score etched on a copper plate and shaped by the near-invisible and hardly simple act of breathing, towards calling attention to presence and wellness.
--> Open to the public, no registration necessary

6 April 13:00 - 14:00 @ Earl Lu
Do You Breathe? How Do You Feel? : Performance by Sophie Dupont that exemplifies the artist’s research into finding common ground with fellow human beings—for this event, with media artist Urich Lau and movement artist Elizabeth de Roza—by calling attention to the fundamental process of being alive through breathing.

6 April 14:30 - 17:30 @ The Frass
People on the Ground: Danish artist Molly Haslund, with a group of volunteer participants in Singapore, will stage a durational performance that creates the silent and calming image of a shared resting and living social body, like cells in an organism, ending with a collective reflection over a simple catered picnic.
--> Open to the public, no registration necessary; indications of interest to participate in the performance welcomed via e-mail to craftcouncilofsingapore@gmail.com

A Solo Exhibition
Project Space Pilipinas
20 June-21 July 2023
The Filipino word Mag-anak is both a noun and a verb, which translates to ‘family’, ‘to bear children, to reproduce’ or ‘to be a sponsor (godparent) at a wedding, baptism, or confirmation. It sets the tone for the homecoming exhibition of Danish Filipina artist, Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen in the cosy town of Lucban, Quezon.
Featuring a selection of works by the artist involving her immediate family members, Mag-Anak wishes to invite the public to imagine, reflect and think about their own notion of how a family looks like.
The exhibition is jointly organised by Belarmino&Partners and Project Space Pilipinas with support from the Danish Arts Foundation. It will be on view from 20 June-21 July 2023.
