A Collaborative Performance by Chey Chankethya and Blake Shaw ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands 20 November 2014, 8:00 & 9:00 p.m.

Rituals are part of everyone’s daily life regardless of cultures and backgrounds. Classically Khmer-trained dancer, Chey Chankethya together with American new media artist, Blake Shaw will explore the process of transporting these rituals from Phnom Penh to Singapore. The first time collaborators will attempt to marry traditional choreographic styles with new media through a series of artistic experimentations. Leveraging on visual layering, the duo will investigate and capture the body on empty spaces and/or ruined buildings in Cambodia.
The audiences will be invited to take part in the exploration of the body in space, by employing the acts of imitation, improvisation and imagination.
This durational performance will explore the parallel actions transported in the two cities.
Entry is complimentary and on a first come first served basis. ArtScience Museum will be opened until 10pm for every ArtScience Late event.
