Belarmino&Partners is an international art consultancy founded by curator and creative producer Vanini Belarmino in Berlin, Germany, in March 2008 and in Singapore in April 2011.


After receiving the collaboration grant from the Japan Foundation through Performing Arts Japan Europe to realise the project ZENSORS, Belarmino&Partners was set up with a vision of creating an innovative
framework for artistic exchanges that can change perspectives. 

 

It works collaboratively with artists, collectives, artist-run spaces, galleries, museums and foundations in realising exhibitions, festivals, public programmes, conversations and artistic interventions.

WHO WE ARE

Vanini Belarmino is an independent curator, producer, and writer whose interest lies in the productive potential of encounters by identifying and facilitating collaborations between artists across genres. Originally from the Philippines, she has spearheaded arts initiatives in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. 

 

Vanini is the managing director and founder of Belarmino & Partners, an international art consultancy established in Berlin in 2008 and Singapore in 2011 that pursues collaborations with multidisciplinary artists, cultural institutions, museums, festivals, and independent art spaces. In this context, she has curated art projects and forged partnerships with the likes of Art Hub Copenhagen, ArtScience Museum, Ateneo Art Gallery, ATT 19, BenCab Museum, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Orange Project, Platoon Kunsthalle, Project Space Pilipinas, Radialsystem V, and Weltmuseum Wien, among others. 

 

Vanini Belarmino was the assistant director (programmes) at the National Gallery Singapore in 2016–2021, where she led the realisation of over 800 public programmes in the physical and digital spaces.  While there, she served as curator for three editions of the Gallery Children’s Biennale (2017, 2019, 2021), the Children’s Festival: Small Big Dreamers (2018), focused on the reinterpretation of works by Singaporean artist Lee Wen (2018), and organised special commissions with the likes of David Medalla, Ho Tzu Nyen, Lee Mingwei, Mark Justiniani, Pinaree Sanpitak, and Sissel Tolaas. She was the co-curator for Afterlude-Prelude, Responses to Nam June Paik (2021), a special program co-organized with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMoMA).

 

She has worked with institutions like the Asia-Europe Foundation, Ballet Philippines, Cultural Center of the Philippines and European Cultural Foundation, and has served as General Manager for dance.MNL, the Philippine Dance Festival and the first Singapore International Jazz Festival. 

 

Vanini Belarmino is a recipient of numerous grants and fellowships, including the Asian Cultural Council New York Fellowship (2014) and the Global Fellowship for the International Society for Performing Arts (2009, 2012).
